Eva Schloss: Before and after AuschwitzEva Schloss:
Before and after Auschwitz

Monday 26 January, 4.30pm
Stanmore Library, Stanmore Hill, HA7 3BQ

Eva Schloss will be giving an inspiring talk about her life and experiences before and after Auschwitz.

Eva was born in Vienna in 1929. In 1944 her family was arrested in Amsterdam by the Nazis and she was sent to Auschwitz along with her mother. When Auschwitz was liberated, they began the search for Eva’s father and brother, from whom they had been separated. Tragically, both men had been killed in Mauthausen.

Before the war, Eva had become friendly with a young girl called Anne Frank. Though their fates were very different, Eva’s life was set to be entwined with her friend’s for ever more, after her mother married Anne’s father Otto Frank in 1953.

Eva co-founded the Anne Frank Educational Trust in the UK. In 2012 she was awarded an MBE for Holocaust Education.
