Big Friendly Read

Posted on: 7th July 2016

This summer come to your local library and take part in the Big Friendly Read - the name for this year’s Summer Reading Challenge. This year’s theme is based on the wacky gruesome world of the late Roald Dahl.

Roald Dahl is best remembered for his amazing children stories such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach. His books have introduced us to many memorable characters like: the clever Matilda, the caring Big Friendly Giant, the cunning fantastic Mr Fox, and the horrible disgusting Twits.

As always, the Summer Reading Challenge is about the enjoyment of reading and rewards.

Read any six children books - write and draw something about it - and get rewarded with prizes from the library.

If you are lucky enough to finish the challenge you will receive your very own medal and certificate.

There is also a full range of children activities in all of Ealing Libraries for children to take part in – see the leaflet or the events link on the sidebar for a full list of events.

The Big Friendly Read is being held between Saturday 16th July and Saturday 10th September in all Ealing Libraries.

Be a winner and take part!
